Job Description: Duties & Responsibilities Manages the technical development of a system from initial concept and business case, through qualification and transition. Performs systems engineering duties to include: Business and Mission Analysis Requirements Definition and Management Interface Management Configuration Management Physical and Functional Architecture Definition System Analysis Verification and Validation Planning Technical Risk Management Decision Management Technical Planning Provides technical leadership to high-visibility, complex, systems development programs and projects. Identifies stakeholder needs and wants and translates them into technical requirements and goals. Successfully integrates mechanical, electrical, software, and human elements of a system to meet stakeholder needs. Analyzes functions and associated criteria and translates these into requirements in sufficient technical detail for designing equipment, and defining intersystem interfaces Defines test requirements and conducts negotiations and/or exchanges as may be deemed necessary to obtain full agreement for these requirements by all concerned. Defines program requirements and conducts negotiations and/or exchanges as deemed necessary to obtain full agreement for these requirements by all concerned. Provides the assessment and tracking of system performance parameters such as weight, volume, pressure, and power consumption Defines and maintains system interfaces such as electrical, fluid, and mechanical interfaces Gives input in the management of change process as to how a change affects other parts of a system. Guides the technical risk management program for a development and facilitates risk assessment workshops such as FMEAs, hazard analyses, and maturity assessments. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent education and experience Minimum of 5- 10 years of engineering experience, with at least 5 of those being in a systems engineering capacity. Prior experience with electrohydraulic systems required DESIRED Degree or certificate in Systems Engineering Background in mechatronics Background in software system development Background in technical risk management or other specialty highly preferred Knowledge of reliability engineering tools and techniques for robust design such as DfR, Weibull analysis, accelerated life testing, HALT/HASS testing, reliability growth testing, etc. INCOSE certification
